WILDERNESS AND REMOTE FIRST AID & ADULT CPR/AED (3-day)
The Wilderness and Remote First Aid & Adult CPR/AED course, taught by the American Red Cross, will span over 3 days. This course will provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skill to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response. This includes wilderness and remote environments, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes. The Adult CPR/AED segment of this program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.
