Vol●un●teer [vol-uhn-teer] –n. one of life’s most valuable natural resources
The Tahoe Rim Trail Association is grateful for 30 years of support from a diverse group of outdoor enthusiasts who continue to support the organization with thousands of volunteer hours annually. It’s a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and enjoy the outdoors with your friends and family.
Since the Tahoe Rim Trail Association began building the Tahoe Rim Trail in 1984, our volunteer program has grown at an incredible pace. The Tahoe Rim Trail was built by over 10,000 volunteers donating over 200,000 hours of time. In 2010, TRTA volunteers dedicated more than 10,000 hours to supporting the TRTA.
How can you get involved? A little something for everyone.....
Volunteer Trail Work
We need your help to maintain and enhance the Tahoe Rim Trail. Spend a day giving back to the Tahoe Rim Trail – no experience necessary!
Back Country Camps
Cooks wanted! Trail workers wanted!
Crew Leaders are critical members of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association team.
Invite your co-workers, scout troop or service club to join you on the trail.
Trail Operations volunteers under 18 years of age must bring a signed Parent Permission Form completed by a parent or guardian to participant in trailbuilding events regardless of whether a parent/guardian is attending the event.
TRTA Volunteer Guides connect trail users to the trail, and ultimately to an ethic of care for the Rim Trail.
Ambassadors work to make a more enjoyable experience for all users on the trail.
Trail Program Support
During the summer, the TRTA has a full calendar of programs, hikes and events - support our programs by becoming a Trail Angel or Shuttle Driver.
